Mom with Epilepsy Helps the Epilepsy Community by Changing People’s Lives

Epilepsy is probably not what you think it is, especially when 300,000 people have a first convulsion each year. 120,000 of them are under the age of 18. Between 75,000 and 100,000 of them are children under the age of 5 who have experienced a febrile (fever-caused) seizure. And 200,000 new cases of epilepsy are diagnosed each year. Epilepsy is beset by myths. Consider the following:
Myth: Only children and young adults get epilepsy. Fact: The segment of the population with the fastest growing incidence of epilepsy is older adults.
