"The Ghost Army" details the destruction of the German 6th Army in the World War II battle of Stalingrad. Former reporter Andy Gallagher has written "The Ghost Army," a novel that details the destruction of the German 6th Army in the World War II battle of Stalingrad.
The book chronicles the end of nearly 300,000 Germans who were surrounded by powerful Russian forces from the end of November 1942 to February 1943.
