Exhibit features photos by Peoria-area students

PEORIA - A former Peoria and Ottawa resident has written the book "A Dream Come True" ($14.95, PublishAmerica), scheduled for release Feb. 12.
The fictional book by Marion Willingham McKenney, who writes under the pen name A.J.C. Mackey and now lives in Huntersville, N.C., tells the story of a teacher who thinks her dreams have come true, only to have them shattered by the cruel hand of fate. When Mackey's central character finds her dream job as a teacher, she discovers she has no support and is constantly surrounded by back-stabbing and jealousy.
The author graduated from Illinois Central College with an associate's degree in liberal arts and from Bradley University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in English. She was honored at Bradley for outstanding achievement.
An elementary school teacher, she began writing while taking writing courses in college. After graduating from Bradley, she began teaching in elementary school in North Carolina.
