Car accident allows Longmont man to pursue writing dream

LONGMONT — Though Robert Kirby woke up from a coma last February with two badly broken legs, something about the accident he survived on the Diagonal Highway last February solidified his dream to write science fiction.
The serious injuries forced the Longmont resident to go on long-term disability and quit his job as a senior UNIX administrator at IBM. But between rounds of physical rehabilitation, his imagination started percolating.
