       I am a military spouse and don't really get into books like this, but once I started reading this one it was hard to put down. Mr. Haigler's views about the war are so truthful. I guess that's why I like it. I can totally feel the emptiness he felt being away from his wife and children. He definitely keeps the book entertaining. Just when you think something serious is about to happen, he puts in a joke to get a good laugh. This is the best book I've read in regards to military health. I am a nurse and was thrilled to read about the skills he performed in the field under terrible conditions and lack of supplies. This book is not all about a medical aid station though, there is so much more. Once again, I loved the book and would like to see more by this author.
