Family Jewels

Brenda Helper, newly trained police rookie handles a D.O.A. of Fells Point Jeweler Michael Inez which later is ruled a homicide. Homicide detectives Mark Lawrence and Santana Alverez are assigned to the case. There are no fresh leads in the case and detectives are baffled when they discover there are no recent business records for what appears to be a thriving jewelry store. Brenda befriends a homeless man, Lonzo, who helps her to develop a suspect in the case. The suspect, Clarence Watson is arrested and not long after the only witness, Lonzo is murdered.

During the investigation the officers are confused by a evidence trail that twists and turns often leading away from the primary suspect. Finally a devastating development which may very well render the case unsolvable. Brenda, Lawrence and Alverez uncover clues that leads them into perilous situations that require tremendous survival skills to outwit the suspects.

T.Y. Green's Biography:
T. Y. Green is a retired law enforcement officer. She is a twenty year veteran of Baltimore City Police Department, and three times commendation recipient. She currently resides in Carroll County, MD with her family. An avid reader of Detective novels, this is her first published literary work.

A Terrific Read
T. Y. Green’s first novel shows her years of experience as a law enforcement officer. She definitely knows the ins and outs of life on the police force as well as on the city streets – and has the talent to make her readers feel like they’re right there with Brenda, Lawrence, and Alverez, the detectives assigned to investigate the murder of a jeweler. Her descriptive narrative paints a picture of her surroundings and her dialog is credible for her characters on both sides of the law. The plot holds the reader’s interest as you follow the detectives through the course of the investigation. You can feel their frustration as the case bogs down, and their jubilance with each new clue that leads them closer to solving the murder. The story is realistic in that, even when the crime is solved, the lives of her three detectives are left at loose ends. But the ending does open the door to a sequel, which this reader would very much like to see. - Mary Erickson

A Great Detective Mystery!
Brenda, a rookie officer secretly teams up with Lawerence and Alverez to solve a case that's kept the citizens of Baltimore frightened for over a year. The Baltimore City Police Dept. can't seem to connect any of the clues that are disrupting the peace of their city. After a series of unlucky events leave Brenda and Lawerence struggling to keep their relationship from deteriorating. They stumble across some leads that help them to uncover evidence to help solve a once thought unsolvable mystery. I found this book to be well paced and written. I didn't won't to put it down once I started reading. T.Y. Green provided an excellent ending to her book that left me eager with anticipation for her next novel. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to solve a good mystery. T.Y. Green should write scripts for T.V. Drama! - Margie
