Our Book of the Month Is...

A Worthy Woman
Victory Over Domestic Violence

"Why didn't I know this was happening to you?" After reading my book my mother wept as she realized what I had gone through. I was stunned. Had I not fled to her home on several occasions, bruised and battered? Yet her reaction is typical. People find it hard to comprehend that domestic violence really happens in the home of a "normal" couple. Consequently, eyes of family and friends are closed to the abuse until someone gets murdered.

This is a true story. Dr. Gail Majcher was a victim of domestic violence. After being abused for four years; she escaped from the marriage with two babies, no money and few people to help her. Yet she made a success out of her life in spite of the emotional scars. During this difficult experience she kept a journal, which is the heart of Part One: My Story and is encased by her psychological and spiritual knowledge.
Part Two: Self Help has clear and concise advice for the victim, the abuser and the parents of the children involved in abuse. We must begin to stop the violence in our streets by getting it out of our homes and away from our children. A Worthy Woman addresses the issues of why both men and women get caught in the web of domestic violence and how they can break free from its grip.

Dr. Gail Majcher's Biography:
Dr. Gail Majcher is a clinical psychologist in private practice as well as a noted public speaker. But it is the topic of domestic violence that tugs most at her heart. Dr. Majcher believes that through knowledge and dialogue about this crime, we can have victory over it. And, if she was able to turn her life around many years ago, so can you.

"A powerful book. I recommend it highly."
Dr. Wayne Dyer

"This book needs to be out there for everyone. It's educational, inspirational and heartbreaking. It is written in a way that will interest everyone who picks it up and they won't even realize they're being educated. A must read."
Denise Brown, Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation

"A truthful, touching story written by a psychologist herself. The self-help is based in real life. Not to be missed!"
Dr. Mary Franzen Clark, Hiding Hurting Healing
