In April of 2003, Joseph Boyle, tired of an unproductive life, became homeless in his hometown of Oneida, New York. He was referred to the ACC (Addiction Crisis Center) and began his rehabilitation from addictions. Back in society, while at McPike ATC, he had written his first writing, “Awake.”
