Book Signings and News
Stephanie Storey-Morant, author of 48 Hours Rich had her first booksigning on April 19, 2003, and sold 16 books there. She sold three more the next day at church on Easter Sunday. Stephanie was also interviewed by Channel 5 News on Thursday, April 17, 2003 and an article about her and the booksigning was placed in the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Art and Life Section on Thursday, April 17, 2003. Additionally, there was a great write up about Ms. Storey-Morant and her book in the Cleveland Scene, a local arts magazine on Wednesday, April 16, 2003. Because of the article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Stephanie has been offered to speak to children about her story and book at the Juvenile Dentention Center on June 19, 2003.

Speaking and Booksigning
Gloria P. Humes, author of Divorced: Marriage Over!..But God! was the main speaker at a Marriage/Re-Marriage Seminar on March 8, 2003 at The Faith Center in Plantation, Florida. A very successful booksigning was held after the conference. Gloria was able to display her book at the Florida Association of Family & Consumer Sciences Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida March 20-23, 2003 and also at the Sister-to-Sister Conference April 5, 2003 in Miami, FLorida.

Diana Hignutt's Mid Spring Events
Diana Hignutt, author of Moonsword will be all over the place in April and May. She'll be interviewed on The Brooke and Jill Show on The Zone, New Rock 94.7, WZZN-FM Chicago, April 21, 9:40 am CST. She'll being taping an interview on CN8's "Real People" progam with her wife Elizabeth on April 29 (to be show in late May). She'll go nationwide on May 3 at 11:15 am est,when she'll be inteviewed on "The Other Side" on XM Satellite Radio, and on May 8, at 3:00pm est she can be heard on the Talk America Live Radio Network. Hollywood Screenwriter Turns Author With Publication of "Shadows of Eagles"
"Shadows of Eagles," by Stephen Lodge, is now available through the Publish America web site. The author, a screenwiter with several produced movies to his credit, can now add "Author," to his growing list of achievements.

Barnes and Noble Display and Signing
Larry D. Bohall
, author of Martyr's Cry receintly walked into Barnes and Noble to attend a writers' group, and there was this HUGE poster with his picture and a copy of his cover art. Larry saw copies of his book prominently displayed on an end cap and on the display in the center aisle. Larry did a booksigning there on Saturday, April 19th.

Stephen Lodge was interviewed about his book, Shadows of Eagles, on Palm Springs' Radio Station KPSI on April 23, 2003 at 8:00 am on The Steve Kelly Show.

PA Author Interviewed for feature article
Charles Cronin, author of Hill Games and The Gemini Trap, has been interviewed for a feature article to appear in a forthcoming issue of the Trenton(N.J.)Times. The article will review Mr. Cronin's writing accompliishments as well as his activities in connection with the New Jersey Library for the Blind and Handicapped where he is the principal reader for their audio book collection. Mr. Cronin has produced an audio version of his first book, Hill Games, which is available to patrons of the NJ library and through the national library at the Library of Congess. An audio version of his second novel, The Gemini Trap, will be released this summer.

"The New Girl" Web Site Hits Hits
In its first six days on line The New Girl's new web site has already garnered close to 1 thousand hits... and this BEFORE listing with major search engines. Mike Reynolds has targeted women's studies organizations, transgender groups, and other targeted readers. Marketing has been done exclusively by placing links with targeted Yahoo, MSN, and Lycos groups and clubs.

So ... How do you Get Published?
Lori Zecca, author of Love Enough for All, will address a St. Louis Writer's group on May 21st during their monthly luncheon. Lori will discuss her writing journey from its inception through publication, focusing on the success of her latest novel, "Love Enough for All", which has recently placed second in a national competition for Best New Author 2002. Lori will be signing her books following the meeting.

James 'Gus' Filegar to speak to Friends of the Library
James 'Gus' Filegar, author of the Civil War novel, Fathers, Sons, and Brothers, is scheduled to speak on May 15th, 2003 at 12 noon at the Altoona Pa. Public Library. He was invited to the annual Friends of the Library May Tea by director Faye Schmitt of Altoona. To promote his new work, James will read from Fathers, Sons, and Brothers, then speak about what led him to write the novel, the process of writing, and choosing a publisher.

10 St. Louis Authors to Sign
Ten St. Louis authors will sign books on Saturday, April 26th at the GMC BUILD-A-BOOK WORKSHOP sponsored by MoRWA (Missouri Chapter--Romance Writers of America). Among those signing are several best-selling, award-winning authors including Debra Dixon, Elizabeth Grayson, and Lori Zecca, author of Love Enough For All.

Mary Erickson, author of Ten Times Have the Lilies Blown, will be at the Fort Morgan, Colorado Public Library at 7:00 p.m., April 22, for a presentation. Another successful signing for Lila B. Mullins and more
On April 8, 2003, Follett hosted a signing for "When the Sails Go Up and the Waves Come Ashore." Follett manages the Lipscomb University bookstore in Nashville, Tennessee. Almost all of the books that Follett had available were sold. Not only that, many from the academic community, ranging from janitors to professors, dropped by to meet Lila for the first time. For the event, she was presented a corsage made up of flowers representing the colors on the beautiful cover of her book (yellow roses and blue Delphinium). Also, the Linebaugh Public Library in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is displaying books by Tennessee authors during the month of April. "When the Sails Go Up and the Waves Come Ashore" is included in that display.

Piazza Talks about IMPACT
Author of IMPACT, Kris Ann Piazza, will appear on a LIVE call in TV show to discuss her novel on Adelphia Cable channel 22 at 6:3p.on May 13th.

Newspaper Feature
In the Sunday edition of the Daily Pilot, a Newport Beach daily paper, dated March 30, 2003 Michael Cooper and his book The Movement were featured in the Life and Leisure section. The artical covered over a third of the page and was set next to the local libraries featured reading list. Ms. Coral Wilson wrote an the artical about a man and his book. The political experiences and views of the author were molded around the novels story.

On Saturday, April 12th at 1:00 pm, John White, author of Deceitful Above All Things held a booksigning at Barnes and Noble, on 5850 University Drive, in Huntsville, Alabama. Literacy Day at Wal Mart
Betty King will be appearing at Wal Mart where she will read from both her book, It Takes Two Mountains to Make a Valley and The Chicken Soup for the Mother and Daughter Soul in which she has a story. Her appearance will be on April 12th in Mt Vernon, Illinois.

Carlos Rubio interviewed by WV Public Radio
On April 9th, Carlos Rubio author of Orpheus' Blues was interviewed by West Virginia Public Radio. The name of the program is Dateline West Virginia and the interview was conducted by Cecelia Mason. It can be heard online at the radio station's website and the author's website.

New Haven holds "New Girl" Event June 7
Author Mike Reynolds will be reading from his latest book, "The New Girl" at the New Haven Public Library, New Haven, CT Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Set in New Haven, "The New Girl" examines the social nature of gender buy chronicling an adventure in crossing gender lines.

Literacy Promotion
Hosted by Wal-Mart in Louisville, Kentucky, located at 10445 S. Dixie Highway and sponsored by the Library Association, K. C. Morgan, author of The Creations Of Belief will do a reading and share her views on the importance of reading. The focus will be on children's literacy, though the event is open to any who wish to attend. K. C. will speak for a few minutes about her book and her experience with writing.

Maryland Writers' Association 15th Annual Conference
Author Brian Hartford will be participating at the Maryland Writers' Association 15th Annual Conference at the Chesapeake Arts Center in Anne Arundle county, Maryland on Saturday, April 12, 2003 from 8:30 am till 5:30pm. The award winning novelist and sreeenwriter, Warren Murphy, will be the keynote speaker. Hartford will participate in the panel discussions on the trials and tribulations of print on demand publishing. During the program, Barnes and Noble will feature Hartford's books. They are Echo! Book Signing, Accomplishments
Marie Wadsworth, author of the romance novel "Bryce," will have a book signing from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at the Hastings in Hobbs, N.M.
She will read excerpts from "Bryce" as well as having drawings for some prizes, T-shirts, a Lifesafers collectible and an autographed copy of "Bryce." Marie has also had two of her feature stories make the Associated Press so far in 2003. She had three stories make Associated Press in 2002. Piers Anthony
Jamie Silcox, author of Impulses has been in contact with Piers Anthony. Jamie asked if Piers if he would read his story and he said yes. Following the reading, Jamie received a signed letter in the mail from Mr. Anthony providing a few tips on what to work on and revisions he thought necessary to make to his manuscript.

Author TJ Perkins, author of Wound Too Tight will be starting the year off with an appearance at the Westminster Flower & Jazz Festival, May 10th in Westminster, MD. Angela Brown had a very successful signing of her book Awakening Women, on March 29, 2003 at the Barnes and Noble store in Bowie, MD. The store completely sold out of the book and another signing is scheduled in May for those who could not get a book at the first signing. A local Barnes and Noble representative said it was the first time they had had a sell out since the store had opened.

Screen Writer Requests Book
Timothy E. Wurtz, a Hollywood screen writer has requested a copy of Overkill- A Detective's Story, which was authored by Elmer L. Snow, III. Overkill was released by PublishAmerica in February, 2003. Mr. Wurtz, along with Glen Benest was writer/producer of Hungry Hearts, a movie which received top honors, including Best Picture in the 2002 California Independent Film Festival Awards.

Debut Book Signing
First of its kind book signing in San Diego. On June 7, author Kip Ives' book, Particulars of the Promiscuous will have its debut signing at Dancers, an adult nightclub in San Diego, California. Particulars of the Promiscuous is a sexual satire of panoramic proportions. Beginning with the Greeks and Romans, each chapter traces the sexual tastes and habits of hundreds of people from the notorious to the elite. This signing will have Las Vegas style of entertainment where the employees will dress up like characters of Kip's book. Food and refreshment will also be provided.

Panel discussions
Farzana Moon, author of Glorious Taj and Beloved Immortal, participated in panel discussions at Columbia University, NY, March 12, 03. 2 Signing Events for "The New Girl"
Two full months before it's scheduled release date of May 31, Mike Reynolds has already secured two signing/reading events for his latest book, "The New Girl". Scheduled for September, 2003, Reynolds will be reading from his book both at the Meriden Public Library in Meriden, CT, and at the Atticus Bookstore on the Yale Campus in New Haven, CT. Reynolds, whose book deals with the basic questions of human gender, and why this basic sense of being male or female alienates men and women so completely, lived as a woman, Lisa Anne Weber for two months in the fall of 2001. The book, which is being compared to John Howard Griffin's groundbreaking 1959 bestseller, "Black Like Me", is already beginning to attract an audience, and the author is now planning to expand his promotional tour throughout the East Coast.

Author Becomes Major Celebrity in White Marsh, Maryland
TJ Perkins will appear before 30 fifth graders of the St. Joseph Elementary School April 3 @ 6:30pm at the Barnes & Noble in White Marsh, Maryland. Continued requests for her appearance in this area has sparked excitement and much interest in her first book "Wound Too Tight." Kids anxiously await the release of her second book "Mystery of the Attic," a suspense story based on a true happening.

Book Signings
Betty King, appeared recently at a local church in Mt Vernon, IL for a book reading, speaking engagement and book signing. She will be at B. Dalton in the same community for a book signing for both her books, It Takes Two Mountains to Make a Valley, and the CS for the Mother and Daughter Soul, in which she has a story, on April 19th from 12:00- 2:00.

Book Signing
On May 31, 2003 from 2-4 p.m. Susan Richmond, author of Wyoming Hope, will be participating in a book signing at Barnes & Noble in Erie, PA. There will also be 25 other authors participating in this book fair.

Reading- Literacy Day
Jerre Morganti, author of The Ringmaster, will be reading from her book on Literacy Day, April 12, 2003 10:00a.m. at Walmart's in Riverhead.

PA Author To Participate in Book Signing Party
Will Garret, author of Publish America's recently release Western novel "The Burning Hills" will participate in a Western Writers of America book signing party on June 28, 2003 at the Helena, MT. Walmart from noon to 3pm. The event is part of the organization's annual convention and is co-sponsored by Anderson Merchandising and Walmart Stores.

Barnes & Noble of Brandon, Florida to host Book Signing
Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 122 Brandon Town Center Drive, Brandon, Florida 33511 will host a booksigning for Elmer L. Snow, III, author of Overkill on May 23, 2003 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Education for after school teenager program relating to prevention and cure of drug and alcohol issues
Joseph Guardino, author of Delight, will discuss drug and alcohol prevention strategies during the afterschool program in Brooklyn, New York. Joseph has established relationships with the teenagers through this worthwhile program. The principles of drug and alcohol recovery through Salvation and healing by faith in Jesus Christ will be discussed starting in April 2003.

Third book signing scheduled for Lila B. Mullins
Follett Stores, which operates the University Bookstore at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, is hosting a book signing for Lila B. Mullins, author of "When the Sails Go Up and the Waves Come Ashore." The event is scheduled for April 8, 2003, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This particular signing is special to the 84-year-old Mullins, since she has lived in the Lipscomb University neighborhood for almost sixty years. In addition, her daughter and three grandsons have all attended Lipscomb. The Lipscomb University Bookstore serves over 5,000 students in grades Kindergarten through college, as well as Masters Program, Lifelong Learning and Adult Studies students. It is also the book source for over 500 Lipscomb faculty and staff.

International Conference on Longevity

Silent Auction
Sparks Health System, a Fort Smith, AR regional hospital has requested the book, "Windy John's, me 'n tut" by author Joyce Rapier to be included in a silent auction hosted by Sparks Guild. The silent auction raises money for labratory and major hospital equipment. "An Evening for Sparks", slated April 26, 2003 will be held at the Fort Smith Convention Center. The agenda includes a BBQ dinner with entertainment by country and western stars, Doug Stone and Shenandoah.

Lecture and Book Signing
Mary T. Dresser, author of STAND FAST and the soon to be released FREEDOM'S COST, will appear on March 11 at the Martin Luther King library in Clearwater, Fl. to speak on Black Participation in the American Revolution. Pn April 2 Mary T. Dresser will speak on Scotland and the Battle of Culloden at the Duneden Public Library as part of the city's Scots Highland Days. On April 3 she will speak to the Ladies Club of Duneden on Historical Novels. Mary Dresser has previously appeared at Author's signings for the Friends of the Clearwater Library and has led study sessions on novel writing at the Tarpon Springs Library.

Jim Roper Speakes About Hs Laos Memoir
Jim Roper spoke about Quoth the Raven today to the Montgomery (Alabama) Chapter of the Military Retired Officers Association. The organization's national magazine, Military Officer, has agreed to review his book. Jim will speak to the Montgomery Kiawanis Club on 1 May. Also, the Pikes Peak Writers newsletter will publish Jim's article about editing in its May edition and feature Jim and Quoth the Raven in a Success Story column. The Pikes Peak Writers group operates an annual writers' conference that Writers Digest has rated sixth in the nation.

In related news, Carolyn Howard-Johnson, author of Harkening: A Collection of Stories Remembered and This is the Place, was chosen to speak at Sam's Club at 10 a.m. at 36780 Date Palm Dr. in Cathedral City because her writing explores the subject of intolerance, another aspect of our lives that takes its toll on our culture. She will also speak and read from her two books, This is the Place and Harkening: A Collection of Stories Remembered, at noon at Wal Mart. That address is 31033 Date Palm Drive, Cathedral City.

Radio Appearance
Joseph Foti, author of The Carrot and the Mule recently appeared on "EVERYTHING GOES? on WNYE-FM (91.5) NYC, PRODUCED BY TEACHERS & WRITERS COLLABORATIVE, where he talked about and read from my novel "The Carrot and The Mule." The show is scheduled to air on Monday, April 14 at 6:00 pm.

Book Signings and Promotion
Tracy James Jones, author of Searching For Eden, has recently made arangements with Hastings Entertainment Inc. to play a major part of her national U.S. book signing tour. The first signing will be held at Hastings Entertainment - Waxahachie, Texas, on April 5, 2003. The regional/national tour will begin soon thereafter. As local interest continues to rise concerning the release of this book, Tracy was recently informed by the local librarian, that she is elegible for a local award for her accomplishment as a published author/screenwriter, born and raised in her hometown of Waxahachie, Texas. This book is also a contender for the Writer's League of Texas 2003-04 Literary Grant Award. The final announcement for this could be as late as June 2003. Also, the screenplay adaptation of "Searching For Eden" is presently in the hands of a hollywood film company, with the open option of being made into a feature film or cable/television mini-series.

Janet Litherland, author of Discovery In Time will be having a book signing at The Bookshelf in Thomasville, Georgia once her book has been released. Two local businesses (not book stores) are eager to take books on consignment for sale to their clients as well. The third week of April 2003 will mark Thomasville's 82nd annual Rose Festival. Thousands (literally) of tourists flood the city and take part in events during the week—parade, street dance, 10K run, golf tournament, arts & crafts fair, etc. Janet will use this tremendous opportunity to sell books.

Barrywood Barnes and Noble in Kansas City, Missouri, will host a book signing featuring Larry D. Bohall, author of Martyr's Cry, a mystery for hopeless romantics. The signing will be held April 19th, 2003, from 2 to 6 p.m.

International UFO Symposium Guest Speaker
Jim Hickman, author of 5000 Years of UFO's has been selected to be one of the guest speakers at the MUFON 2003 International UFO Symposium July 4-6, 2003 at the Hyatt Regency, in Dearborn, MI. The topic will be "The UFO Continuum: Past, Present, Future."

Conference Appearance
Larry D. Bohall, author of Martyr's Cry, will address the 2003 Tri-Conference of the Kansas Library Association, Kansas Association of School Librarians and the Kansas Association for Educational Communications in Technology. The 2003 Tri-Conference will be held at the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kansas, April 9th through the 11th.
