Signings and News
Stephanie Storey-Morant, author of 48 Hours
Rich had her first booksigning on April 19, 2003,
and sold 16 books there. She sold three more the next
day at church on Easter Sunday. Stephanie was also interviewed
by Channel 5 News on Thursday, April 17, 2003 and an
article about her and the booksigning was placed in
the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Art and Life Section on
Thursday, April 17, 2003. Additionally, there was a
great write up about Ms. Storey-Morant and her book
in the Cleveland Scene, a local arts magazine on Wednesday,
April 16, 2003. Because of the article in the Cleveland
Plain Dealer, Stephanie has been offered to speak to
children about her story and book at the Juvenile Dentention
Center on June 19, 2003.

Gloria P. Humes, author of Divorced: Marriage
Over!..But God! was the main speaker at a Marriage/Re-Marriage
Seminar on March 8, 2003 at The Faith Center in Plantation,
Florida. A very successful booksigning was held after
the conference. Gloria was able to display her book
at the Florida Association of Family & Consumer
Sciences Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida March
20-23, 2003 and also at the Sister-to-Sister Conference
April 5, 2003 in Miami, FLorida.

Larry D. Bohall, author of Martyr's Cry receintly
walked into Barnes and Noble to attend a writers' group,
and there was this HUGE poster with his picture and
a copy of his cover art. Larry saw copies of his book
prominently displayed on an end cap and on the display
in the center aisle. Larry did a booksigning there on
Saturday, April 19th.

Author Interviewed for feature article
Charles Cronin, author of Hill Games and
The Gemini Trap, has been interviewed for a feature
article to appear in a forthcoming issue of the Trenton(N.J.)Times.
The article will review Mr. Cronin's writing accompliishments
as well as his activities in connection with the New
Jersey Library for the Blind and Handicapped where he
is the principal reader for their audio book collection.
Mr. Cronin has produced an audio version of his first
book, Hill Games, which is available to patrons of the
NJ library and through the national library at the Library
of Congess. An audio version of his second novel, The
Gemini Trap, will be released this summer.

Lori Zecca, author of Love Enough for All,

'Gus' Filegar to speak to Friends of the Library
James 'Gus' Filegar, author of the Civil War
novel, Fathers, Sons, and Brothers, is scheduled
to speak on May 15th, 2003 at 12 noon at the Altoona
Pa. Public Library. He was invited to the annual Friends
of the Library May Tea by director Faye Schmitt of Altoona.
To promote his new work, James will read from Fathers,
Sons, and Brothers, then speak about what led him to
write the novel, the process of writing, and choosing
a publisher.

Ten St. Louis authors will sign books on Saturday, April
26th at the GMC BUILD-A-BOOK WORKSHOP sponsored by MoRWA
(Missouri Chapter--Romance Writers of America). Among

On April 8, 2003, Follett hosted a signing for "When
the Sails Go Up and the Waves Come Ashore."
Follett manages the Lipscomb University bookstore in
Nashville, Tennessee. Almost all of the books that Follett
had available were sold. Not only that, many from the
academic community, ranging from janitors to professors,
dropped by to meet Lila for the first time. For the
event, she was presented a corsage made up of flowers
representing the colors on the beautiful cover of her
book (yellow roses and blue Delphinium). Also, the Linebaugh
Public Library in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is displaying
books by Tennessee authors during the month of April.

Author Brian Hartford will be participating at
the Maryland Writers' Association 15th Annual Conference
at the Chesapeake Arts Center in Anne Arundle county,

Warren Murphy, will be the keynote speaker. Hartford

Angela Brown had a very successful signing of
her book Awakening Women, on March 29, 2003 at
the Barnes and Noble store in Bowie, MD. The store completely

it was the first time they had had a sell out since
the store had opened.

Book Signing
First of its kind book signing in San Diego. On June
7, author Kip Ives' book, Particulars of the
Promiscuous will have its debut signing at Dancers,
an adult nightclub in San Diego, California. Particulars
of the Promiscuous is a sexual satire of panoramic proportions.
Beginning with the Greeks and Romans, each chapter traces
the sexual tastes and habits of hundreds of people from
the notorious to the elite. This signing will have Las
Vegas style of entertainment where the employees will
dress up like characters of Kip's book. Food and refreshment

Signing Events for "The New Girl"
Two full months before it's scheduled release date of
May 31, Mike Reynolds has already secured two
signing/reading events for his latest book, "The
New Girl". Scheduled for September, 2003, Reynolds
will be reading from his book both at the Meriden Public
Library in Meriden, CT, and at the Atticus Bookstore
on the Yale Campus in New Haven, CT. Reynolds, whose
book deals with the basic questions of human gender,
and why this basic sense of being male or female alienates
men and women so completely, lived as a woman, Lisa
Anne Weber for two months in the fall of 2001. The book,
which is being compared to John Howard Griffin's groundbreaking
1959 bestseller, "Black Like Me", is already

and cure of drug and alcohol issues
Joseph
Guardino, author of Delight, will discuss
drug and alcohol prevention strategies during the afterschool
program in Brooklyn, New York. Joseph has established
relationships with the teenagers through this worthwhile
program. The principles of drug and alcohol recovery
through Salvation and healing by faith in Jesus Christ
will be discussed starting in April 2003.

Follett Stores, which operates the University Bookstore
at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, is hosting
a book signing for Lila B. Mullins, author of
"When the Sails Go Up and the Waves Come Ashore."
The event is scheduled for April 8, 2003, from 11:30
a.m. to 1 p.m. This particular signing is special to
the 84-year-old Mullins, since she has lived in the
Lipscomb University neighborhood for almost sixty years.
In addition, her daughter and three grandsons have all
attended Lipscomb. The Lipscomb University Bookstore
serves over 5,000 students in grades Kindergarten through
college, as well as Masters Program, Lifelong Learning
and Adult Studies students. It is also the book source
for over 500 Lipscomb faculty and staff.

Sparks Health System, a Fort Smith, AR regional hospital
has requested the book, "Windy John's, me 'n
tut" by author Joyce Rapier to be included
in a silent auction hosted by Sparks Guild. The silent
auction raises money for labratory and major hospital

April 26, 2003 will be held at the Fort Smith Convention

the Duneden Public Library as part of the city's Scots
Highland Days. On April 3 she will speak to the Ladies
Club of Duneden on Historical Novels. Mary Dresser has

Jim Roper spoke about Quoth the Raven
today to the Montgomery (Alabama) Chapter of the Military
Retired Officers Association. The organization's national
magazine, Military Officer, has agreed to review his
book. Jim will speak to the Montgomery Kiawanis Club
on 1 May. Also, the Pikes Peak Writers newsletter will
publish Jim's article about editing in its May edition
and feature Jim and Quoth the Raven in a Success Story
column. The Pikes Peak Writers group operates an annual
writers' conference that Writers Digest has rated sixth
in the nation.

Tracy James Jones, author of Searching For
Eden, has recently made arangements with Hastings
Entertainment Inc. to play a major part of her national
U.S. book signing tour. The first signing will be held
at Hastings Entertainment - Waxahachie, Texas, on April
5, 2003. The regional/national tour will begin soon
thereafter. As local interest continues to rise concerning
the release of this book, Tracy was recently informed
by the local librarian, that she is elegible for a local
award for her accomplishment as a published author/screenwriter,
born and raised in her hometown of Waxahachie, Texas.
This book is also a contender for the Writer's League
of Texas 2003-04 Literary Grant Award. The final announcement
for this could be as late as June 2003. Also, the screenplay
adaptation of "Searching For Eden" is presently
in the hands of a hollywood film company, with the open
option of being made into a feature film or cable/television
mini-series.
