Club Fed Living Inside a Women's Prison
Lynn R. Increasing Demand for PA Book
"Lost Child" by Marrianne White, has sold out in three of its last four events. Borders in Tulsa, OK sold a whopping thirty copies during it's Street Cats Event. That success was followed by a sellout at Waldenbooks in Odessa, TX and another at the Hastings in Abilene, TX. All three bookstores had to order more copies to keep up with demand.

Interview and Book Signing
Novelist and poet D. Garcia-Wahl was recently interviewed by Minneapolis Underground. While he is currently promoting his novel, Ashes of Mid Autumn, the interview concerns more his upcoming collection of poetry, All that does come of madden'd days. Also, D. Paz-Martinez's Texas-Mexico border novels
The Fort Worth (Texas) City Library and the University of Texas at Arlington library have added several copies of Eduardo Paz-Martinez's novel, Inside The Volcano, to their shelves. Mr. Paz-Martinez second PA novel - The Rain in Spain - has just been released.

Waldenbooks Book Signing
On August 9, 2003; RJ MacCurry did a book signing at Waldenbooks in Asheboro, NC. The book signing started at 1 pm and was scheduled for two hours. Because of customers continuing to come to the store for the book which was advertised in the Asheboro Courier Tribune, the book signing lasted until 5:30 pm. Fallen Angels was the top seller for the week at the Asheboro Waldenbooks Store. MacCurry will be doing a book signing on August 30, 2003 at Waldenbooks in Greensboro, NC where the story of the book was set in. Because of success with the book sales at the Asheboro, NC and Charleston, SC Waldenbooks, Two Waldenbooks Stores in Myrtle Beach, SC have also requested the book.

Steven Farkas, author of Tales of The Grotesque, will be holding a reading and discussion at the Howell Library in Howell New Jersey. The event is scheduled for September 15th at 7p.m. He will also be appearing in Allentown N.J. sometime in October.

Book Signing in La Vegas
Kip W. Ives (Particulars of the Promiscuous) is pleased to announce that he has been selected to be one of several authors to sign books at the Grand Opening of what has been dubbed the Largest Bookstore in the World in La Vegas, Nevada, sometime in September, 2004. The store, right behind the hotel, Treasure Island will have the largest marquee for any bookstore of its kind.

Everybody Keep Moving
Tony King certainly likes to follow his own advice. The author of Keep Moving, is to take part in the world famous Great North Run, half marathon (the largest event of its' kind with over 47000 entrants) on the 21st September, for UK Cancer Charity Marie Curie. Tony has put together a team of 20 runners including himself, who hope to raise over £6000 ($9600) for the charity.

Another Barnes & Noble Book Signing
Gail Bellenger will have a book signing at the Stevens Creek Barnes & Noble store in San Jose on September 17th from 7-9pm. This event is slated as an author's night and Ms. Bellenger will be joined by four other authors who will all talk about their writing and answer questions.

Romantic Times Magazine
Buddy & the Jack by W. Bryan Smith, and Publish America, are featured in an article in the September 2003 issue of Romantic Times Magazine. The article, by Dog Writers Association of America member Jean C. Keating, is titled "The Dog Writers of America's Canine Cannon." It lists Buddy & the Jack as among the best novels in dog-related fiction. Five other dog-related novels are included in the article.

Book Signing
Patrick D. Brogan held his first book signing at a Waldenbooks in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 9th. He sold out all 50 plus books and has been asked to come back for another signing at their Western Hills store around the holidays. The store will now keep "Raven's Prey" stocked due to interest in the novel from customers who wanted a copy, but couldn't get one on the 9th.

Fathers, Sons, and Brothers Accepted into Greystone's American History Store, Gettysburg, Pa.!
James 'Gus' Filegar's Civil War novel about the Twentieth Maine Regiment Fathers, Sons, and Brothers Book One will now be available at Greystone's American History Store in Gettysburg, PA. They carry non fiction for the most part, but have a very exclusive historical fiction selection. To be considered, the novel must be reviewed and meet certain criteria to be accepted. The novel has also been reviewed and accepted into the Eastern National Bookstore at the Gettysburg Battlefield National Park Visitor Center, which also has a very high standard requirement for historical fiction.

Kimberly Owen was on the Nationally Syndicated Radio Program, The Delilah Show. On July 29th. She told some of her story about writing the book, The Apple Doesn't Fall Far. She then gave her e-mail address. The response was enormous. She received letters from as far away as New York.

Lynching Stream Author Interviewed by CBC
Horane Smith, author of The Lynching Stream, was interviewed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) on August 31, about his new novel and participation in the literary festival, Wordfest. He was interviewed on one of the network's most popular programs Here and Now. Also, a story on the author's new novel was carried by a widely-read newspaper, The North American Gleaner, on July 31.

Author Roy W. Brown experienced a very successful book signing August 1 at Hastings Book Store in Richmond, Indiana. The book stocks Jig How and Brown had to furnish more copies for their shelves after the signing. The store manager and employees were excited and so were the many customers who met and talked with the author. Jig How sales are gaining momentum and Brown hopes to increase the number of signings plus scheduling speaking engagements.

On Saturday, July 26, 2003, at 10:00 PA author Joseph Foti, ESQ., of the International praised novel "The Carrot and the Mule" was interviewed by noted African American author Denise Turney, author of the books Portia, Love has Many Faces, and Spiral; on her radio show "Off the Shelf" at Blakeradio.com on the Rainbow Channel. The Interview lasted for 45 minutes as Mr. Foti discussed everything from the domestic violence and sex crimes aspects of his novel, domestic violence in general and the in and outs of being a published novelist including how to write your first book and the intricacies of the publishing and marketing industries.

Jeff Neugroschel Interviewed by New Jersey Herald
The New Jersey Herald, Sussex County's daily newspaper, has featured an interview with Jeff Neugroschel, author of Emergence Of Hope. The article focused on the affect the horrific events of September 11th had on the author and how writing the story helped him cope. Staff reporter Mary Paolucci had read the book and included her praise as well as quoting sterling reviews from Midwest Book Review and others. The article appeared in the July 9 issue.

Book Signing
Alex A. LeSueur, author of Hunted, will have a book signing at Hastings in Greenville, Texas in the first week of August. This will be his first signing for Hunted. He will also have a signing for Hunted at the Hastings books store in Paris, Texas the following week. He is still working out the details for a book signing at Hastings in Sherman, Texas. He has also just signed a new publishing contract with PublishAmerica for The Violent Skies, to be published in the near future.

Baltimore Book Festival Attendance
Rida Allen, author of Great Love will be attending the Baltimore Book Festival in Baltimore Maryland on September 19th, 20th and 21st. She will be signing and selling copies of her books to over 65,000 attendees.

Book Signing at Borders
Marrianne White's 2nd book signing at the Borders in Tulsa was a smashing success. Although surrounded by many times published authors (including Billie Lets, author of "Where the Heart Is"), Marrianne sold over thirty books at the signing, causing the store to order more copies for those who could not buy a book on the spot. Further, the animal adoption organization, Street Cats, invited Ms. White to be a part of their annual fundraiser at the Tulsa Borders.

Wendy Alexia Rountree, author of the young adult novel, "Lost Soul," has been informed by Susan K. Schmidt, Head of Materials Management for the Anne Arundel County Public Library in Annapolis, Maryland, that four copies of her novel have been acquired for the library.

First Book Signings
Two book signings are scheduled for August. The Reno Barnes & Noble store, 5555 S. Virginia Street, on August 19th at 2pm, and the independent BookCellar store, 1202 N. Carson Street in Carson City, Nevada on August 9th at 1pm. Ms. Bellenger will have genuine Roman and Egyptian artifacts on display, so stop by for a view of ancient history.

City Editor featured in two publications
City Editor, by Larry Peterson was featured in a news story published in the August edition of the Tybee News in Georgia. It also was the topic of a feature column by Stew Rieckman, executive editor of the Oshkosh, Wisc. Northwestern. Both the news story and the column gave a synopsis of the plot and described Peterson's long career in journalism. "I am definitely buying the book," Rieckman concluded.

Charles Olsen, author of "The Portal Spell", has just been interviewed by The Post Record, a weekly local paper in Camas, WA. Charles discussed his inspirations that motivated him to write, as well as the people who have supported him. After discussing future goals, Charles said he hopes to continue to write more stories, and perhaps even send a screenplay to a major motion picture company.

Barbara Spring will speak at the Spring Lake Rotary Club on August 15 about The Dynamic Great Lakes and give a preview of The Wilderness Within. On August 19 she will give a talk at Spring Lakes new library about the ever changing Great Lakes system. On Oct. 16, she will speak in Rochester MI about how important the Great Lakes are to everyone.

Newspaper Article
Miss K. C. Morgan sat down last week for a person-to-person interview with a reporter for "The Southwestern Reporter". The article will discuss K. C.'s book The Creations of Belief: The Lost Goddess and most recent projects, and also the author's personal feelings about her work and the life of being a published author in general. It will appear in the August issue of the paper.

Civil War Author will be at Sharpsburg Heritage Festival in September
Gus Filegar, author of Fathers, Sons, and Brothers, Book One, will do a booksigning for his Civil War epic at the Sharpsburg Heritage Festival September 13th and 14th, 2003. In conjunction with the anniversary of the Battle of Antietam, this annual festival draws thousands of history minded people every year. The author Naseera will be a guest on the radio show "OUR VOICES" On August 7th, 87.7 FM from 7 to 8pm. DJ DAOOD is hosting. This event will take place in Los Angeles. The show will focus on her book and the fact that Naseera is the first African American author to pen a book in the horror genre like Kidra. It is a first of its kind and could historically change the face of urban horror as we know it, by giving it a serious dramatic face.

Lori Wolf and Parrot on a Limb Are Flying Around Southern California
Lori Wolf will be signing her mystery, Parrot on a Limb, at many locations around southern California. The novel is receiving positive reviews. Lori will also be signing copies of her novel at the Santa Barbara Book Festival on September 20.

Bob Schlegel author of Command Authority announces his first book signing at the Urban Think book store in Orlando, Florida. The event will take place on August 21, 2003 from 7-9pm. Bob leaves for Key West the following day to conduct "research" for his next book titled, The Theosus Key. This trip coincides with the Ernest Hemingway look-a-like contest during the Hemingway Days festival at Sloppy Joes bar. "I have ball watching a bunch of old men try to convince about twelve former winners that they should be "papa" for a year.
