Book Reading at Barnes & Noble's Spotlight On Writers
Carole Sletta and Cheryl Long Riffle, authors of the inspirational and self-help title, Through Spiritual Eyes: The Journey From Within & Beyond have been invited to do readings from their book. This will be held at the Lloyd Center Barnes & Noble, 1231 NE Broadway, Portland, Oregon on Friday, March 28, 2003. They join four other writers for this reading and signing event.

International teen challenge director requested a book to review

Barry Interviewed on Radio Talk Show
Lynn Barry author of Puddles and Bjoyfl, received a phone call from Matt Miller of Authorsden asking her to be a guest on Authorsden radio talk show because he said he likes the way she writes and her authorsden gets a lot of attention. Barry was interviewed by Roger Vizi on January 11, 2003 and anyone interested can go to the Author's Den website and click on the radio show link and the listen icon next to Barry's picture. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to play.

Television Appearance
Author Peter Kipling Soteres recently sat for the taping of a thirty-minute interview on Confusing Words to appear on "About Books," a public access television show that reaches communities in and around the San Francisco Bay Area and that has been on the air for more than fifteen years. The show is scheduled to begin airing in March.

Autumn Sky by Louise Riveiro-Mitchell is as of today 510,220 in sales ranking at Barnes and Noble it has gone up and down in sales and was at one point 312,654 Autumn Sky is listed in the Historical Romance Writers of America Site. The Western Writers of America reviewed Autumn Sky and found it fanciful, entertaining and an emotional story. Romance Writers Review is anticipting the second book in the series. Louise has completed her second in the series and is now working on her third the last in the Autumn Sky series and plans to start her next series at eh begining of next year.

"Strike Swiftly" takes honors as best novel
"Strike Swiftly" by Kevin P. Grover, was selected in the 2002 Preditors & Editors International reader's poll as best novel. The compelling and critically-acclaimed drama was heralded by readers as their top pick overall for all novels rleased in 2002.

Book Signings and Promotion
Tracy James Jones, author of Searching For Eden, has recently made arangements with Hastings Entertainment Inc. to play a major part of her national U.S. book signing tour. The first signing will be held at Hastings Entertainment - Waxahachie, Texas, on April 5, 2003. The regional/national tour will begin soon thereafter. As local interest continues to rise concerning the release of this book, Tracy was recently informed by the local librarian, that she is elegible for a local award for her accomplishment as a published author/screenwriter, born and raised in her hometown of Waxahachie, Texas. This book is also a contender for the Writer's League of Texas 2003-04 Literary Grant Award. The final announcement for this could be as late as June 2003. Also, the screenplay adaptation of "Searching For Eden" is presently in the hands of a hollywood film company, with the open option of being made into a feature film or cable/television mini-series.

Analysis & Discussion
On February 6th, Jack Halstead appeared at the Writing Center, Marymount Manhattan College in New York City to discuss his novel "CrackDown!." In a dynamic exchange of ideas and concepts, Halstead reviewed the sociological sources and development of the novel. This was along with a review and overview the novel's disturbing implications. A signing followed the exchange.

Author takes second place in International Reader's Poll
Kevin P. Grover, author of the critically-acclaimed novels "Strike Hard" and its sequel "Strike Swiftly", has finished in second place in the 2002 Preditors & Editors International Reader's poll for Best author. was once plagued by epileptic seizures. They came with no warning, and left her devastated. After a life-altering surgery, and a soul-searching book, Ms. Sawyer's life has turned around. Author Secrets Radio: Book Crazy Radio Network
Linda Alexander, author of "Until Next Time" and other books, as well as magazine and newspaper articles, has just taped a radio interview with Vijaya Schartz, host of Authors Secrets Radio, to be aired at scheduled interviews throughout the day on Wednesday, 2/5/03, as well as periodically on Saturdays, Sundays, & Mondays. The show airs on Book Crazy Radio Network.

Book Signing at Barnes and Noble
Barrywood Barnes and Noble in Kansas City, Missouri, will host a book signing featuring Larry D. Bohall, author of Martyr's Cry, a mystery for hopeless romantics. The signing will be held April 19th, 2003, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Portland State University Literary Event- Visiting Writers
Robert Bremmer, author of Awakening in Midair has been invited to read from his first novel at Portland State University - a select honor extended to chosen Northwest writers. The event will be held on February 23rd.

Virginia Festival of the Book
Maria Exposito Glass, author of Sun and Shade has been invited to participate in a panel "Novels of the Twentieth Century: Reading" during the Virginia Festival of the Book. Along with authors Aimee Liu (Flash House), Cathal Liam (Consumed in Freedom's Flame), and Marc Estrin (Insect Dreams), Maria will be discussing historical fiction set in the twentieth century. The event will take place on Sat. March 22, at 2:00 p.m. at New Dominion Bookshop, 404 E. Main Street, in Charlotttesville, Virginia.

Barnes and Noble Exclusive Book Signing
Linda McKinney, author of Tears In The Wind has been invited by Barnes and Noble in Waco, Texas to a signing at their store, March 1, 2003. They are having a typical Texas atmosphere signing, Bar-B-Que and the works! They had read Linda's book "Tears In The Wind" and wanted her there with four known Texas authors.

Golden Web Award
Barbara Spring, author of The Dynamic Great Lakes announces that for the second year in a row The Dynamic Great Lakes website has won the Golden Web Award. The website has information about the Great Lakes and their exotic species, endemic species of fish and satellite photos of the Great Lakes along with other useful information including where the book may be purchased.

Michael Corrigan
, author of Confessions of a Shanty Irishman will be giving a reading from his book at the Boise Log Cabin Literary Center on March 19. The memoir was named Book of a Week by Galway's Emigrant Online. There's a review coming out in the San Francisco Chronicle at the end of January.

Book Used for Grief and Loss Classes
Conquering the Mysteries and Lies of Grief by Sherry Russell will be used for the Grief and Loss classes given in the Department of Health and Science at Gordon College in Georgia. The book has also been requested by Dr. Desch for the College of Nursing at Rutgers in New Jersey. Also using the book is University of Mississippi starting in April for seminars to be given on grief. Dr. York from the Bar-Llan University’s School of Social Work in Israel is having the book reviewed by the major journal “Society and Welfare” for the social workers of Israel.

International UFO Symposium Guest Speaker
Jim Hickman, author of 5000 Years of UFO's has been selected to be one of the guest speakers at the MUFON 2003 International UFO Symposium July 4-6, 2003 at the Hyatt Regency, in Dearborn, MI. The topic will be "The UFO Continuum: Past, Present, Future."

Conference Appearance
Larry D. Bohall, author of Martyr's Cry, will address the 2003 Tri-Conference of the Kansas Library Association, Kansas Association of School Librarians and the Kansas Association for Educational Communications in Technology. The 2003 Tri-Conference will be held at the Bicentennial Center in Salina, Kansas, April 9th through the 11th.

Virginia Festival of the Book
Laurence Hutner, author of Dead Woman's Voice announces that every March, Charlottesville hosts the Virginia Festival of the Book. This event, attracting visitors, vendors and participants throughout the world, lasts about one week. This year the Festival will include a series of 'Crime Wave' programs on Saturday, March 22. He has been chosen to be a panelist in one of the 'Crime Wave' programs titled "The Scene of the Crime" involving all books which take place in Virginia.
