Horane Smith, author of The Lynching Stream,
was interviewed, on Tuesday, July 22, on the Toronto
radio station CIUT-89.5 FM, following the publication
of his new novel and an upcoming launch. He was interviewed
on the popular Tuesday morning programme "Black
Roots Radio." The Lynching Stream will be launched
in Toronto, on July 31, as part of the book festival,
Wordfest.

Firstborn author Bruce Tiven will attend
the 3 day festival Boats, Books and Brushes in New London,
CT on September 5, 6, and 7, 2003. He will be in the
Connecticut Authors and Publishers tent where he will
be signing copies of his book. Copies will be available

will also be a guest on September 13, 2003 at the Lisbon
Fall Festival, being held on the grounds of the Bishop
House on Route 169 in Lisbon Center. The Lisbon fall

Front Street Books in Alpine, Texas, will be hosting
a recitation and book signing by screenwriter/author,
Stephen Lodge. He will be reading from his new
novel, "Shadows of Eagles," on August
8, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. "Shadows of Eagles"
is a World War II story set in the Texas Big Bend, and
follows a posse of Texas Rangers as they pursue escaping
German prisoners of war through the badlands of The
Lone Star State.

Marrianne
White had
her first book signing for her first novel, Lost
Child, July the 19th at the San Angelo, Hastings.
Local news covered the event and it was included in
the nightly broadcast. In addition, July the 26th Mrs.
White has been invited to the Borders Books in Tulsa,
OK to be included in a local author event combined with
a wine-tasting and SPCA event for animals without homes.
On July 31st she will be interviewed on KOCV FM radio
by chad Harris preceeding her August 2 and 9 signings
in Odessa, TX. Currently, Marrianne has been invited
to do signings at the Hastings Books in Abilene, TX
on August 16 and the Barnes and Noble in Tulsa, OK on
August 30. She has also been invited to participate
in a local author event at the BArnes and Noble in Midland,

Ed Buhrer, author of Luray, recently had
a feature article written about him and the novel which
appeared in The Central Virginian, the newspaper of
Louisa and Fluvanna counties in Virginia. The article
discussed the content and creation of the novel, Mr.
Buhrer's experience in story-telling and his other novels,
and his first and main love: teaching high-school juniors
and seniors.

A news story on the publication of The Lynching Stream,
by historical fiction author Horane Smith, was
carried on page 2 of Canada Extra, a newspaper that's
available in major Canadian cities such as Toronto,
Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, and Calgary. The article,
which carried a picture of the book's cover, gave a
brief summary of the novel. Horane Smith is the author
of the popular novel Lover's Leap.

R.J. MacCurry will be doing his first Fallen
Angels book signing at WaldenBooks located in the
Charleston Place Hotel Mall in Charleston, SC. The book
signing will be on July 19 between 6 pm and 8 pm. Charleston,
SC is were the author now lives. MacCurry is also scheduling
book signings with WaldenBooks in Asheboro, NC, Greensboro,
NC, and High Point, NC. These three locations in North
Carolina are were the fictional story, "Fallen

will address the Houston County Chapter of the Sons
of Confederate Veterans on July 14, 2003, at 7:00 p.m.

Connecticut author Tyrone Vincent Banks was interviewed
by the CT Journal and his story is the lead story in
the July 11, 2003 issue. CT Journal Editor/Writer Joan
Hunt writes: "He (Mr. Banks) has written a book
of poetry about the experience (interracial relationship)
called Under the Melting Pot, which is not only
a testament to his patience and devotion, but also a
great love story that will inspire others to follow
his guide." Tyrone Vincent Banks, author of the

Molly Brent, author of There Ain't Enough
Front Porches, appeared on the 4 o'clock show on
an ABC affilliate, WLOX, in Biloxi Mississippi on Wednesday,
the 9th. Ms. Brent was also the featured author on the
USA Deep South website. Congressman Gene Taylor sent
Molly a letter thanking her for being an inspiration
to others. Ms. Brent has several book signings lined
up and her book is being carried by several local bookstores
and gift shops.

Ed Buhrer, author of Luray, was recently
interviewed by Kate Lewis, of the Daily News Record,
a daily newspaper of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Over the
course of the thirty-minute interview, Ed talked about
writing, where he gets the ideas and motivation to write,
his main career as a teacher of English and Writing,
and what hopes he has for some of the remaining seven
novels he has written to be published as well. Asked
why he had chosen Luray, Virginia, as the setting, he
replied, "it's a beautiful area with really nice
people." Mr. Buhrer was also recently interviewed
by Max and Rick, on the morning show of 3WV, 97.5 FM,
Charlottesville, Virginia. Over the course of the twenty-minute
interview, Ed talked about writing, the excitement of
a first novel being published, and his hopes for some
of the other seven he has written to be published as
well.

Nominated for American Library Association Award
Gypsey Teague's first novel, The Life and
Deaths of Carter Falls, has been nominated for the
American Library Association Stonewall Award in fiction
for 2004. This Award is given to books of a Gay, Lesbian,
BiSexual, or Transgender subject area. Her sequel, Two's
Company, Three You Die!, is due to be printed by
PA shortly. Although the action revolves around a transgendered
National Security Agent, the mystery and suspence will
keep any reader guessing until the last page. This is
a keeper, said Dawn Myers, from Writer's Unlimited.
All ages can read this safely, since there is no sex
or foul language, just shoot em up action.

The film option to Waterford-born Tom O'Brien's book
'Confessions Of An Altar Boy' has been snapped
up by One In The Eye Films and Television. The London-based
production company, run by well-known UK producer Mike
Bluett, and patronised by Oscar-nominated director Jim
Sheridan,are now in discussions with a top Irish playwright
to script the project. 'Confessions' is Tom's warts-and-all
autobiography of growing up in rural Waterford in the
1950's and 1960's. Read it and weep!

The author Naseera will be a guest on the radio

and the fact that Naseera is the first African American
author to pen a book in the horror genre like Kidra.

the face of urban horror as we know it, by giving it
