Knoxville
Writers Group
Christy Tillery French, author of "Chasing
Horses" and "Wayne's Dead"
has been asked to speak at a meeting of the Knoxville
Writers Group on Wednesday, February 26, 2002. The meeting
will be held at the University of Tennessee Faculty
Club and will begin at 11:30. Lunch will be served,
after which, Ms. French will address the group for approximately
40 minutes.

Connection Interview
Phillip Wolf, author of God Gave Us a Promise
has been contacted by the office of the vice president
at the Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma
Linda, California to do an interview with the publisher
of "Kids Connection" at the Loma Linda University
Children's Hospital on Friday, October 25 2002. An advertisement
for the book will also be placed in the circular that
goes out to several thousand within the medical university
and the community. Tom Thumb Food Markets (a Safeway
company) will be doing a limited promotion of his book
within their stores around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex
upon release.
SciFi
Channel
5000 Years of UFO's by Jim Hickman will
be featured in the new TV series "In Search Of..."
on the Scifi channel.
CourtTV
Appearance
Hilda Smith author of The Rose of Shari,
and her husband Bob, along with Sheriff Jim Metts and
Solicitor Donnie Myers will be appearing on Court TV.
They are being filmed the week of October 21 by Wish
Craft Productions. This is being filmed due to the story
of her book, the abduction and murder of Shari Smith.

Motion Picture Candidate
Book One of Fantasy Trilogy Series "Beyond the
Rockstack Wall - Aldrin the Destroyer", written
by Michael I. Viets, is being considered a candidate
for a major motion picture.
Barnes
and Noble Book Signing
Lori Paris, author of Follow Your Heart
has a book signing at Barnes and Noble in Reno, NV on
Saturday, November 16th, 2002 at 1:00 p.m., in celebration
of National Adoption Month.

Promotional Event
Six PA authors will be having a joint promotional event
in the Charlotte, NC area on Friday evening, October
25 at the Lake Park Community Center. Paul E. Blais,
author of Resurrecting Paul: Why Terrorism Can't
Win, Erin Elder, author of Protectors
of Klairn, Cesar Perez, for Deep Soul,
Trina Green, who penned Family Jewels,
Chris Cole, (1/2 of the pair for C.C. Colee)
who, along with Cody Lee, created the high seas
trilogy, The Widow Maker, The Enchantress, and
The Game, and H.B. Marcus, author of Crispy
will all be available to read excerpts and sign copies
of their books.

Julie Daube, author of The Shadows of Babylon
announces that her book is being featured on BushCountry.org,
a very popular conservative Web site! Thanks to the
endorsement of BushCountry's CEO, Jim Ownbey, Julie
has landed an interview on "American Breakfast
Radio Show," hosted by Phil Paleologos and syndicated
nationwide from coast to coast. Phil has been named
as a Top 100 talk show host, and numerous celebrities
have been guests of the show. Recent guests have included
Michael Dukakis, Armstrong Williams, Phyllis Schlafley,

Interview
Fenton Prewitt, author of The Chronicles
is scheduled for a live television interview on KTRE
T.V. which serves a 9-county area in East Texas, with
a viewing audience in excess of 300,000 people. The
New York Review of Books has agreed to read & review
The Chronicles. Fenton is awaiting word from the head
buyer at Walmart Corporation on The Chronicles. If they
like it, they may place copies in stores nationwide.
Harvest
Festival Fair Appearance
Author Evelyn Horan was invited as one of ten
local South Bay authors to attend the Harvest Festival
Fair. She presented her historical fiction children/young
adult book(s) Jeannie a Texas Frontier Girl, Book
One and Two at the Fair in Palos Verdes, California
on October 13. The Harvest Festival Fair, in Lunada
Bay Village, Palos Verdes, California, is the site for
ten South Bay authors to present their books and marketing
materials at tables set up in a horseshoe type Authors
Row with a reading area similar to that done at Borders
Book Stores.
NUW
Book Club
This is the Place by Carolyn Howard-Johnson
has been selected by the editors at NUW's Book Club
along with four other books for the new book club's
grand opening in October.
Talk
Show Interview
Joe Tofuri, author of The Ninth Commandment
has scheduled a 30 minute talk show interview October
2nd on KONO 101 radio in San Antonio, TX. It will be
broadcast on 6 stations on the 5th and 6th. Joe also
has a book signing at Barnes & Noble on the 17th
of October . The store is located at Henderson Pass
and highway 281 in San Antonio, TX.

Announcements and Interviews
Spyridon Moshonas, author of Escape from Argopoli
has had an announcement posted on the Greek-language
Internet Daily, To Kalami and To Reporto. An article
has been published in the Bayview Mills Town Crier (circ.
30,000). Spyridon has been interviewed in the Bayview
Post and the North York Mirror. Bayview Post would feature
Spyridon in their November Issue and the North York
Mirror in October. Several other newspapers in the area
have requested review copies.

Signings and Appearances
Larry D. Bohall, author of Martyr's Cry,
has several book signings scheduled for October in Missouri
and Kansas. On October 19th in Great Bend, KS, Larry
will be signing books at Carrolls Bookstore's Grand
Re-Opening. The event will feature a Live Remote Broadcast.
He will also present a copy of the book to the Central
Kansas Library System. On October 24th in St. Joseph,
MO, Larry will spend the day signing books at the 3
gift shops at Heartland Health (the regional medical
center where Larry works). And on October 25th in Independence,
MO, Larry will participate in the Open Mic night at
the Barnes & Noble in Independence, and will autograph
copies of his book.

Jimmie Ray Cantrell, author of Mittie's Song
will be doing a selection of tunes from his recently
published novel at the following locations: On Friday,
October 4, 7:00 PM at Border's of Summerlin and on Saturday,

also be performing at Borders Grand Opening Event of
their fourth Vegas Valley location in Summerlin at Charleston

Copies of Book
A Christian school in Wilmington, CA, ordered a class
set of Jeannie, A Texas Frontier Girl, Book One
by Evelyn Horan for third and fourth grades to
be used as a historical fiction study. A class set of
25 books, Jeannie, A Texas Frontier Girl Book One was
ordered from the author by Pacific Harbor Christian
School, Wilmington, California. The historical fiction
book of frontier life in West Texas in the 1880s will
be used in the social studies classes as part of their
curriculum.

Writer of the Year

Duncombe, author of Blizzard in August and
Enduring Faith has been named the Writer of the
Year 200l by the the Idaho Writer's League.

Public Library Appearance
Nan Dickie talked about her book A Map For
the Journey: Living Meaningfully With Recurring Depression,
based on her own life experience with depression, at
the Vancouver Public Library on October 10.
Speaking
Engagements and Appearances
Jim Hickman, author of "5000 Years of UFO's"
will be appearing on the new TV show "In Search
Of"- Fridays on the SciFi Channel. He is hosting
the Wake Up USA radio show live weekly Wednesday's at
8 PM EST. He will be speaking at the Elk City Library
on Nov. 4th from 12 noon to 1 PM 225 W. Broadway, Elk
City, and to the Rotary club in Elk City, Oklahoma January
23, 2002. Jim will be speaking at the ARC - Alternate
Realities Conference, 2003. The conference will be held
at the Roan Mountain Conference Center on Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday - June 27th, 28th, and 29th, 2003. He is
speaking at the International UFO Symposium in April
2003- Sponsored by Sirius UFO Space Sciences Research
Center & International U F O Museum.
Arlene
Violet Radio Show
George Anthony, author of Who Killed the Broadway
Butterfly? appeared on the Arlene Violet radio show
on Monday, September 30, at 5:30 p.m. The show has the
largest audience in Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts
and everything went great, based on the compliments.
Creative
Writers of the Southern Tier Workshop
Lynn Barry, author of "Puddles"
and "Bjoyfl" lead a workshop on September
28th for the Creative Writers of the Southern Tier in
Wellsville, NY. The group has been meeting for 25 years
for the purpose of promoting creative writing. Barry
used to belong to the group when she wrote the first
draft of "Puddles," and was happy to return
to the members as a twice published author, now. Barry
has created exercises for writers to engage themselves
in for the purpose of "having fun with fiction
writing." These activities were drawn from her
years of writing fiction and analyzing her finished
published novels. Participants who had already bought
"Puddles" were able to get their books signed
by Barry and others learned about PublishAmerica and
how they could order books through the company.

3650 Atlanta Highway, Athens, Georgia from 2 to 4 p.m.

of the Washington County Historical Society in Sandersville,
Georgia at the Washington EMC Building. A book signing
will be held before the meeting from 5-7 p.m., and the

on WMAC-AM radio in Macon on Saturday, November 9th,

Horror Fest II
A. B. Wallace, author of The Mark of the Werewolf,
will be at a multiple author signing at the Halloween
Horror Fest II, October 26, 2002, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00

is a gathering of authors, publishers, artists, and
media celebrities in celebration of Halloween and the
horror genre. The festival is free to the public, and
events include panel discussions, readings, makeup demonstrations,

The Detroit News did a column on A Worthy Woman,
by Gail Majcher on Saturday, Sept. 21st in their
Feature section by Betty DeRamus. The Oakland Press
will be doing one in their Oct. 6th issue.
Book
Signing
"The Second Edition Bookstore,"
located at the Columbia Business Center on Dobbin Road
in Columbia, will host a book signing for local author
and heart transplant recipient Brian A. Hartford
from 1pm to 5pm. Brian, and his co-author, Peggy
McCardle, collaborated to write his autobiography
Change of Heart. It is the story of Brian's survival
from heart disease. Brian will celebrate his twelve
years of his great gift of life by walking with other
heart disease survivors and volunteers to raise money
for the local heart association.
