The unusual adventures of young George Cameron: Time. And Time Again.
Michael W. Coniglio
Imagine you are 12 years old and suddenly sent back in time to relive the past six months of your life—and you don’t know why! Slipping away from a boring Christmas Eve party, George ventures upstairs into the attic of his aunt’s house to see what he can find. Had he known he would encounter a time warp, a droid-like video blip named Videon, a journey master named Timon and near-death scrapes with evil time bandit brothers, including Time Keeper and Dead-itor, George might have thought twice about his curiosity. The unusual adventures of young George Cameron is more than just a twisted ride through time. It’s about George’s friendship with his pal Sam. It’s about Sam’s wild rivalry with his teenage sister, Violet. And it’s about a mystery girl named Mary, and how her story forces George to see that the key to finding his way back home can only be found…in his heart.

"I'm Da Muva," Said Miss Bossy
Author: Vivian "Vee" Dowell; Illustrator: Doris Huntley
My name is Vivan Theresa Dowell. I am the daughter of Geneva Vaughan and the late Alvin Vaughan Sr.. I was born on October 15, 1963. I am an African American female. I have two daughters, Karen Mcleod, twenty-four, and Latifah Pearson, seventeen. I have a very supportive husband, Nathaniel Dowell Sr., whom I married March 19, 1999. I attended Baltimore City Community College to obtain my high school diploma. I received my diploma in December 2001. I’ve had several jobs, but none of them were jobs that I wanted to make a career out of. Both of my daughters attended Headstart at St. Bernardine’s Headstart Center, located in Baltimore.

I began volunteering in their classrooms and around the center, and this was where I found that working with children is my calling. The position that I had was a support aide, working one on one with disabilities. Then I became a teacher assistant and now I am a teacher. I have been employed at St. Bernardine’s Headstart Center for twenty years. I’m also attending Baltimore City Community College to earn my associates of arts degree in early childhood education.

My favorite hobbies or interest are spending time with my family, reading, playing games on the computer, doing crossword books, writing, listening to music, taking time out for myself and, most of all, working with children. This is my first attempt to write a children’s book, and believe me, this will not be my last.

"Ollie Ollie in Come Free!"
Nicole Rocheleau
Emmy is a typical twelve-year-old girl--insecure, funny, always trying to fit in, wondering why things always happen to her at the most inopportune time. Not that it surprises her, mind you, she just wonders about it. She lives with her mom, an Emmy award-winning prime-time actress, her dad, the best maxillofacial surgeon in the state, and a very special woman named Shulie. Her best friend Ryan lives right down the street from her, and the love of her life just moved into the house that faces hers. Typical right? Mom, Dad, best friend, crush. But when Emmy climbs a tree and gets stuck, suddenly things become not so typical.

“Ollie Ollie in Come Free!” is the first in the Emmy Bolan series.

1, 2, 3, My Daddy and Me
Kristina Hecht
1, 2, 3, My Daddy and Me is the first book in a series that is intended to help a child to learn how to read by drawing on their visualization skills. After my oldest daughter Kaycee struggled to learn how to read, we discovered that she was having troubles with the memorization of words, but when color was added to them it became more of a game rather than work. The color coordination of the top 100 target words needed for first grade helps a child to be visually stimulated in the learning process all while having fun with the colors. After they begin to read the color-coordinated words they are more open to phonetics and traditional print.

1-2 Recycling's for You!
Nicole Sterrett
Nicole Sterrett has been a second grade teacher for five years. When teaching the children about recycling, she discovered her passion to help the environment. In 2006 she began gathering information she felt was valuable for young children to know about recycling. She then came up with an idea to put her message to a nursery rhyme so it would be easy for young children to remember. The rhyme was simple, so she added a second level to reach higher readers. Finally, she added another level with more specific details so that educators in her same situation might find her words useful. The rhyme has been put to a tune so that it will remain in children’s memories.

As a mother of four young children, Nicole is eager for people of all ages to hear her message and keep our planet beautiful and clean.

1-2-3 Kitties:A Cat Counting Book
Patrick B. Humphreys
Patrick B. Humphreys shares his home with three cats, Callie, Gracie and Sienna, as well as his wife, Katria, and son, Cameron. His three felines are an inspiration for numerous paintings, as well as this book. Cats to Patrick are not just pets but are an important part of his family. Cats are living entities, and his paintings exemplify this notion. Cats deserve as much consideration as his wife or son. This book deserves as much consideration as a counting book for children as well as a painted celebration of the living entites of cats. Enjoy the “cats” of your life, and enjoy this book that celebrates their image.

19 Cats of Alabama, The
Rita Harris and Paul Long
The 19 Cats of Alabama, you will find, is a children’s book written with vision and the unique insight of living with 19 cats. While the book is intended to be entertaining, just as equally important is the re-enforcement of family values, responsibility and even its use as an educational tool. Children and adults will notice the look is different than most children’s books, but for a reason. The valuable content of the book is priceless, but just as important, children will use their imagination. This simple but state-of-the-art children’s book directs children to think and take the lead for themselves, while making decisions based in values, rather than being led.

20 Foxes
Mary Fitzgerald-Rodriguez
Mary Fitzgerald-Rodriguez has three loves: God, her family, and animals. After moving from Ohio to south Texas in 1998, Mary was able to have her own personal menagerie of goats, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats. She has always enjoyed writing, and after becoming a grandmother, she began writing and illustrating books about her “pets” and sending them as gifts to the grandchildren she missed so much. When the family visited, they had an opportunity to meet the animals, so the books became a way of sharing on a very personal level. Mary and her husband, Olegario, have great fun “humanizing” the unique personalities of their animals, and their antics always provide a rich source of material for the books.
