FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE March 1, 2004 PublishAmerica
sets new record for largest book signing in history FREDERICK, Md. -
PublishAmerica, a Maryland-based publishing company that has launched more than
13,000 authors since its founding in 1999, set a new Guinness World Record today
when more than 150 PublishAmerica authors gathered at the Frederick Towne Mall
for the largest book signing event in history. The PublishAmerica book signing
more than doubled the record set on Dec. 3, 1999, when 60 novelists participated
in a signing in London, England, according to Guinness World Records. The
153 PublishAmerica authors journeyed to Frederick from across the nation to promote
their books at the Feb. 29 event, which concluded a three-day convention held
by PublishAmerica for its authors. "Although this was our first convention,
I knew we'd break the world record when I saw the enormous interest displayed
by our authors, and the great distances they traveled to be here," said Larry
Clopper, president of PublishAmerica. "Our authors had been asking us to
have such a convention, and they set a new world record. Our authors should be
very proud of themselves." PublishAmerica received from Guinness World
Records an official certificate for "Most Authors Signing Own Book,"
which reads, "A total of 153 authors from PublishAmerica signed their books
for the public at the same book signing event in Frederick, Maryland, USA, on
Feb. 29, 2004." ### About
